Okay, so here's my funny thing that I was hinting about last night.
Well, remember that boy at church that I had a little crush on? Well, he came into Blockbuster on Saturday. He was in line and I saw him and my heart was pounding like you wouldn't believe! I was hurrying with the two other customers in front of him so Chase wouldn't hop on register to help me out. He didn't. So Corey came up to my register and I kinda thought he would say something to me or recognize me. I mean, I've been going to that church for about a year and sit in the very front row!
Well, he just greeted me as if I were just another Blockbuster employee. Well, I asked him for his card and he looked through his wallet and then said, "You know what? My wife has my card." Wife? WIFE?!
Oh.My.God.
I have never screamed that loud before in my life. In my head, of course. I was so embarrassed and felt like the biggest jackass!
So anyway, he wasn't in the system because he hadn't rented at that store before so I had to call another store to get the account number. After I got it, he gave me the movie and I said to him, "Shouldn't you be practicing instead of watching movies?" He just glared at me like I grew a third eyeball. So I said, "You know....your band?" And he gave me a different look as if I was stalking him or something. So I finally said, "I go to your church!" His face turned red and he was like, "Really? You go Saturday night?" I told him yes. He said the movie he was getting was actually for a thing they were doing for the Saturday Night Church.
He kept apologizing for not knowing who I was. He asked me if I was going that night and I told him that I was. I felt so embarrassed after he left. I couldn't believe that he was married. God, I could just die.
Well, I went to church that night and all that good stuff. After the service, he came up to me and I said, "Do you recognize me now?!" He laughed and was telling me that he felt like a bonehead for not recognizing me and when he went home, apparently he told his wife what happened and she called him an idiot and said, "That's Jessica!" I was shocked because I have no idea who his wife is. The funny thing is that his wife went to high school with my brother and they graduated together!
Jeez, I just feel like a bonehead. I'm not sure how old he is. My brother is 27. But Corey doesn't look like he's that old. Not to say that 27 is old, but he doesn't look 27.
Anyway, there goes my crush, shot down into oblivion. Ah well. At least I made a new friend! A cute one at that!
